SAUDI ARABIA: FIRST CERTIFICATE OF A SOUND TRADEMARK

 

The Saudi Intellectual Property Authority has issued the first certificate for a sound trademark in the Kingdom.

The certificate has been issued for the Saudi Telecom Company.

It seems that the sounds which are innovative as well as distinctive will enjoy legal protection in the jurisdiction so long as they are used to distinguish the goods and services of an undertaking from the goods and services of another undertaking.
