Overview
Syed Maqbool Shah (Maqbool Shah) is Country Manager of UTMPS Oman, based in Muscat, where he has led the office since 2009. With nearly 30 years of intellectual property experience, he advises clients on protecting, managing, and enforcing IP rights in Oman, delivering the responsiveness and precision required for deadline-driven portfolios.
His work spans IP strategy and portfolio administration, as well as contentious and enforcement-related matters, including oppositions and cancellations, litigation coordination, and anti-counterfeiting initiatives.
Before relocating to Oman, Mr. Shah held progressively senior roles within UTMPS in the UAE and Pakistan, beginning in 1994. He is known for dependable execution, close oversight of active matters, and a detail-driven approach focused on efficiency, accuracy, and follow-through.
Active in the local business community through BNI Oman, Mr. Shah reflects UTMPS’s commitment to long-term relationships and practical IP awareness in the Sultanate.
