Ms. Maria Farrukh Irfan Khan is a Managing Partner at United Trademark & Patent Services, spending most of her time at the firm’s offices in the United Arab Emirates.
Ms. Khan graduated from Wellesley College with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Spanish. She was a Commonwealth Scholar at the University of Cambridge, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts/Master of Arts (Law Tripos). She was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a member of Lincoln’s Inn and was a recipient of the Hardwicke Award.
She previously worked with leading international law firms in London and New York. Her practice focuses on patents, trademarks, and litigation, with a particular emphasis on regional portfolio management.
Ms. Khan is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA), and other leading intellectual property associations.
She is a speaker at the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (IACC) and other international conferences and has authored articles in various intellectual property publications.
She is also an Adjunct Professor at the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where she introduced courses on Intellectual Property Law, Competition Law, and Start-up Law.
